Your mission
We're seeking a Director IT to lead our eight-person IT team and shape how technology enables our business. You'll drive the strategic direction of our internal IT operations whilst ensuring day-to-day services run smoothly. This role balances leadership, strategy, and hands-on involvement as we transition towards greater automation and modern IT practices.
We are primarily a Linux and Google Workspace company with AWS as our primary cloud provider" You'll work closely with Information Security to develop and execute our security roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of eight IT professionals
Build a collaborative culture focused on service excellence and continuous improvement
Define clear goals, responsibilities, and career development paths for team members
Foster knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration
Strategic Direction
Develop and execute IT strategy aligned with business objectives
Drive the transition from reactive support to proactive, automated service delivery
Evaluate and implement modern IT approaches, tools, and frameworks
Plan infrastructure evolution to support company growth and changing needs
Service Delivery & Operations
Ensure reliable delivery of end user support and backend services
Oversee network, server, virtual, and cloud infrastructure for internal and customer-facing services
Establish and monitor service level agreements and key performance indicators
Balance operational stability with innovation and modernisation initiatives
Security & Compliance
Partner with Information Security and Compliance teams on strategy and roadmap development
Oversee execution of security initiatives across IT operations
Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations
Promote security awareness and best practices throughout the organisation
Stakeholder Management
Serve as primary IT interface for senior leadership and business units
Translate business requirements into technical solutions and roadmaps
Communicate IT strategy, progress, and challenges clearly to non-technical audiences
Manage vendor relationships and evaluate buying decisions
