DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) - Build Infrastructure & Bazel

Your mission

To support our companies growth and put more effort into build efficiency, we are looking for a DevOps Engineer (m/f/d). As a DevOps Engineer with a focus on build infrastructure and Bazel, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our build and CI/CD processes. Your expertise in build systems, dependency management, automation and Bazel will directly impact our engineering efficiency and software quality:

Develop and maintain our build infrastructure, with a strong focus on Bazel.
You write designs to improve the automation level and scalability of the platform.
Optimize build performance, caching, and dependency management to ensure fast and reliable builds.
Improve CI/CD Jenkins pipelines, integrating Bazel into automated testing and deployment workflows
Work closely with software engineers to ensure build reproducibility and scalability
Troubleshoot build platform issues, dependency conflicts, and performance bottlenecks.
Support monorepo build strategies, ensuring best practices in code organization.
Automate and improve developer workflows, making builds and releases seamless.
Be part of the OpenSource community and take responsibility also for the public repository and GitHub actions and automations.

Your profile

You thrive in high-performance build systems and love optimizing engineering workflows. You bring:

Solid experience with Bazel (especially Platform, Toolchains, Rules) and open to new technologies
Linux command line knowledge to navigate and troubleshoot efficiently
Interested in working in an Open-Source environment
Strong background in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab Ci)
Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python and Bash)
Understanding of dependency management, caching, and distributed builds.
Familiarity with containerization (Docker)
Experience with monorepos and large-scale codebase management is a plus
A proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work across teams.
Your communication in English is fluent

Deine Aufgaben

Um unser Wachstum weiter voranzutreiben und unsere Build-Effizienz zu steigern, suchen wir eine*n
DevOps Engineer (m/w/d). Als DevOps Engineer mit Fokus auf Build-Infrastruktur und Bazel spielst Du eine entscheidende Rolle dabei, unsere Build- und CI/CD-Prozesse zu optimieren. Dein Know-how in den Bereichen Build-Systeme, Dependency Management, Automatisierung und Bazel hat direkten Einfluss auf unsere Engineering-Effizienz und die Softwarequalität:

Entwicklung und Pflege unserer Build-Infrastruktur mit starkem Fokus auf Bazel
Entwurf von Konzepten zur Verbesserung der Automatisierung und Skalierbarkeit der Plattform
Optimierung der Build-Performance, des Cachings und des Dependency Managements für schnelle und zuverlässige Builds
Verbesserung der CI/CD-Pipelines in Jenkins und Integration von Bazel in automatisierte Tests und Deployment-Workflows
Enge Zusammenarbeit mit Software-Entwickler*innen, um Build-Reproduzierbarkeit und Skalierbarkeit sicherzustellen
Analyse und Behebung von Build-Problemen, Dependency-Konflikten und Performance-Engpässen
Unterstützung von Monorepo-Build-Strategien und Förderung von Best Practices in der Code-Organisation
Automatisierung und Optimierung von Entwickler-Workflows für reibungslose Builds und Releases
Mitarbeit in der Open-Source-Community, inklusive Verantwortung für öffentliche Repositories, GitHub Actions und Automatisierungen

Dein Profil

Du hast Spaß an hochperformanten Build-Systemen und daran, Engineering-Workflows zu optimieren. Du bringst mit:

Solide Erfahrung mit Bazel (speziell Plattformen, Toolchains, Regeln) und Offenheit für neue Technologien
Gute Linux-Kenntnisse, um effizient zu navigieren und Probleme zu lösen
Interesse an der Arbeit in einer Open-Source-Umgebung
Erfahrung mit CI/CD-Pipelines (z. B. Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
Skills in Skripting & Automatisierung (Python & Bash)
Verständnis für Dependency Management, Caching und verteilte Builds
Erfahrung mit Container-Technologien wie Docker
Idealerweise Kenntnisse in Monorepos und Management großer Codebases
Eine proaktive Haltung, starke Problemlösungsfähigkeiten und die Fähigkeit, mit verschiedenen Teams zusammenzuarbeiten
